The 2023 Jeep Compass is a compact crossover SUV that can handle rough terrain and comfortably accommodate the whole family. The vehicle comes in various trims and colors to customize your new Jeep Compass.
The Jeep Compass is back for 2023 with a new transmission and standard all-wheel drive following a facelift last year that brought about some much-needed quality-of-life changes both inside and out. Jeep puts a 200-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-liter engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission in every Compass. The available Trailhawk trim points the needle to the backcountry with off-road equipment and features like lower gear. Still, the extra gear doesn’t turn it into a Wrangler.
In 2023, the Compass will get a new powertrain with a 200-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. — a less powerful version of the engine of the new Dodge Hornet. It provides a welcome increase in power over the previous 2.4-liter engine, which produced either 177 or 180 horsepower, depending on spec. The Jeep Compass will no longer be offered with front-wheel drive, as the all-wheel drive has become standard equipment.

THE SMOOTH PERFORMANCE OF THE 2023 JEEP COMPASSÂ
While Jeep still has to announce which engines will be in the new 2023 Jeep Compass, we expect the available options to include the same ones as the 2022 model. The 2022 version of the SUV is powered by a 2.4-liter inline-four engine that produces 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque, and it comes with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. However, 4×4 is standard on some trims and available on others.
This engine does a great job of balancing power and efficiency. It gets an EPA-estimated 22/31/25 mpg (city/highway/combined) and 22/30/25 mpg (city/highway/combined) in a 4×4 configuration. The new Jeep Compass saves on charging, but not at the expense of power. This rugged SUV can tow up to 2,000 lbs2, allowing you to take the family boat or pop-up camper for the weekend.
One exciting possibility for the 2023 model is new transmissions. The Jeep brand already sells the hybrid iteration of the Jeep Compass in other global markets; we wouldn’t be surprised to see this powerful trim on the new American model. There is also the option of a mild hybrid addition to the engine lineup; only time will tell.

Jeep hasn’t detailed the upcoming 2023 Compass lineup yet, so we’ll have to speculate based on the 2022 options, which are:

We’re sure we’ll see the 2023 Jeep Compass Trailhawk. The Trailhawk trim is available on many Jeep vehicles and always points to off-road chops. The 2022 version boasts a special off-road suspension, 17-inch diamond-cut wheels, and a sleek black and red hood decal. You’ll have a great time hitting the trails in the new Jeep Compass.
THE EXOTIC INTERIOR OF THE 2023 JEEP COMPASSÂ
The Compass cabin is functional, comfortable and has enough space for four adult passengers. The back seat is neither the smallest nor the biggest of the crossovers in this diverse class. The high lower parts of the rear seat provide full support for the passengers’ legs, and even long journeys can be comfortable. Despite its boxy exterior and what appears to be a competitive edge at first glance, the Compass isn’t the roomiest of its bunch. It has enough luggage space for a run to the airport, but long trips can be a squeeze. The rear seatbacks tilt up a bit when folded, and the last Compass we tested had just 17 carry-ons with the seats folded.
The standard touchscreen is 8.4 inches, and a larger 10.1-inch screen is also available. Along with natural voice recognition and navigation, Compass offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless smartphone integration.
