Dodge’s fifth Last Call model, the 2023 Charger King Daytona, pays tribute to West Coast drag racing star William “Big Willie” Robinson and his 1969 Charger.
The Dodge Charger is one of the longest-running nameplates in the US. It is one of the legendary cars that started the muscle car niche, and the rest should be left in the history books for gearheads. The Dodge Charger first appeared in 1946 as a concept car. It is one of those vehicles that doesn’t need an introduction until the next century.
Over 75 years ago, American muscle cars proved their mettle time and time again when it came to pure performance and authentic looks. However, as the EPA gradually imposes stricter regulations, the future of high-performance vehicles looks uncertain. All beautiful things come to an end, right?
And here, Dodge tries to give the Charger and Challenger the farewell they deserve. Last month, Dodge announced seven special Last Call models of the gas-guzzling siblings to celebrate their legendary careers.

A HOMAGE TO A LEGENDARY 1969 DODGE CHARGER
The 2023 Dodge Charger King Daytona is a fifth of seven Last Call unique edition models that pay tribute to famed West Coast drag racing star William “Big Willie” Robinson and his 1969 Dodge Charger King Daytona. Dodge will build just 300 units of the 2023 Charger King Daytona and will only offer it in SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody trim.
The King Daytona has its unique flavor and is instantly recognizable with its new Go Mango body color mixed with SRT and King Daytona badging. Additionally, Dodge equipped the King Daytona with an 807-hp Hellcat engine option, making it the fastest standard Charger to date.
Apart from this, this car features a sporty interior, exclusive exterior additions, and various other features we will discuss below.
DODGE PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE KING OF DAYTONA OF THE 1960S WITH ELEGANT STYLING
Dodge has prepared the Charger King Daytona for an iconic look, and what they’ve done is phenomenal. Last Call’s newest model looks precisely how we want an American Muscle car to look. The King Daytona features a “Go Mango” exterior color in honor of the 1960 King Daytona. This unique color choice of the 2023 Dodge Charger King Daytona model gives it a historic and exceptional flavor, making it instantly recognizable even from a distance.
In addition to the bright exterior color, Dodge decorated the exterior with SRT and King Daytona decorations. The dashboard has black headlights with thin DRLs and a black honeycomb grille. The hood has a muscular look, curvaceous body lines, and a black satin hood. A pair of bright Mopar hood studs are on the sides, followed by a satin chrome SRT badge on the far right of the grille.
Step aside; the King Daytona looks sexier with satin black King Daytona graphics on the rear fender and satin chrome badges. Underneath, this Charger flaunts a set of 20-by-11-inch Warp Speed satin carbon wheels and orange six-piston Brembo brakes. From behind, the King Daytona looks no less distinct.
The roof graphic looks fabulous, and the black satin spoiler adds a sporty character. In addition to these embellishments, all Last Call models will feature a special nameplate under the hood, as well as “Designed in Auburn Hills” and “Assembled in Brampton” badges that celebrate the Charger’s heritage and provenance.
